We are currently working on a narrative writing project. Attached below is the rubric that will show how this project will be graded, as well as a handout to suggest ideas on a topic. As you write drafts, please feel free to post them to this blog to receive feedback from your classmates.

Guidelines for Students
Posting Writing Pieces
Students who are posting pieces to get feedback should follow these instructions:
1. First type their piece in a Microsoft Word document and save it.
2. In a new window, open up a posting box in Blogger.
3. Copy and paste your written work into Blogger.
4. Click "Publish Post" to save it in Blogger.
Students are encouraged to post their work often, however, it is suggested that you not upload your written work more than once a week so that other students may have the opportunity to have their work read.

2. Follow the golden rule. Comment to others as you would have others comment to you.
3. Follow the T.A.G. strategy:
* T: Tell something specific you liked about their piece.
* A: Ask questions about their piece to clarify their ideas.
* G: Give suggestions on how they can improve their piece.
4. Be constructive and specific with your comments- not just "That was awesome!".
5. Focus on revising ideas more than editing.
Wonders of Writing Project
Welcome to the Wonders of Writing blog! I have created this blog to help my fourth grade students improve their writing. The objective of this site is for students to create writing projects and share them on this blog so that other students in the class can comment on them. They will give positive feedback as well as suggestions on how they can improve their writing. Students will adhere to specific guidelines when commenting on another student's work. I'm hoping that this will give students the opportunity to confer with more writers than they would be able to face to face, thus receiving more feedback on their work and creating an even better written work.
